She is the Garden
"She is the garden" organic and mineral pigment, pastels on unprimed canvas, 50 X 80cm, 2025
Exploring themes of transcendence, rebirth and inner light with this one. The figure appears both human and otherworldly — for me it representing the soul, a guardian presence, and the energy of life itself.
Following Jungian archetypes she would be the Anima Mundi. Sometimes I identify myself with her, sometimes with the bird she holds. I like the change of perspective. The flowing lines and luminous hues give the impression of movement and transformation. Sometimes it feels almost too much. But during painting the movement was flowing and I couldn't really stop. The figure is made of light or energy and it's blending harmoniously with its surroundings. She is the garden. Outer blends with inner.
With the meaning I can go as far as: Spiritual awakening or enlightenment — the self becoming aware of its own luminous nature. It's a part of healing, emotional renewal — the pastel tones and gentle lines hold nurturing and peace. And a small hint of unity with nature — the leafy, flowing shapes around the figure suggest growth and harmony with the natural world.
